A bus driver and a beauty salon employee were among the 14 new COVID-19 infections found in Northeast China's Dalian, a port city where a viral outbreak has been found recently, local officials said on Monday.

The 14 patients were all asymptomatic patients, eight of whom are family members of employees at a local seafood processing company, where the city's new cluster infection was reported recently.

Among the new cases, one is a bus driver who had constantly been wearing masks from July 21 to July 23, and stayed at home on July 24.

Another patient was a beauty salon employee, who went to a district court, ate at a barbecue restaurant and took public transportation on July 21.

Dalian on Sunday announced it would test its 6 million residents to identify patients and silent carriers in order to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak, after the infection chain spread to six other cities in Northeast China.

The city government in Dalian said on Monday that it would conduct serum antibody tests for all employees from the seafood processing company.

From Monday until the day the employees' quarantines end, they will also receive nucleic tests once every three days.
