A cement factory in East China's Jiangsu Province has apologized after putting the body of an employee who died in a factory accident into the trunk of a car to take him to the funeral parlor.
The incident was exposed by a netizen surnamed Wang on Sina Weibo on Tuesday. Wang said that her father, who worked in the Jinfeng cement factory had died in an accident, and that then, without the consent of family members, the factory put her father's body into a car trunk to take him to the funeral parlor.
Her post drew a lot of attention online. The government of Liyang, Jiangsu noticed the public response to the incident, and said it had started to investigate the matter on January 1. it found that the employee died after touching part of an electromotor while it was working.
The government said it had suspended operations at the factory to examine its safety measures, and asked it to apologize to family members of the dead employee.
The family members also reached an agreement on compensation with the factory, it said.
