China second only to the US in space launch mission numbers, total payload weight in 2020: blue pape

China carried out 39 launches in 2020, sending a total of 89 spacecraft into space and breaking the record of total weight at 103.06 tons, a 29.3% increase compared to the previous year: Blue book on China's 2020 aerospace development
 
China's number of launches and weight of payloads in 2020 both ranked second in the world behind the US, marking major strides forward in China's aerospace development.
