A woman from East China's Zhejiang Province spent a loaned 130,000 yuan ($20,100) on matchmaking services over the past two years, but has not been successful in finding her significant other.

The 30-year-old woman surnamed Lu, working in the medication industry in Hangzhou, registered as a member of the Chinese dating site jiayuan.com in November of 2019, hoping to find a perfect match through its matchmaking services.

The annual membership fee of the dating site was as much as 68,800 yuan. Over the past two years, Lu spent over 130,000 yuan, on loan.

However, the matchmaker of the dating site introduced divorced men to her despite her criteria on potential candidates, which disappointed her over and over again.

A man even told Lu that the matchmaker disclosed Lu's private information to him.

Lu has reported the case to the local market watchdog, demanding a full refund and five-months free membership in compensation.
