Pinggu district in northeastern Beijing on Monday issued a proposal on COVID-19 vaccination, calling upon all of the district's residents to get inoculated with domestically produced vaccines. The proposal said that they are safe and have a 90 percent success rate of generating antibodies after the whole course of inoculation is completed.
"Vaccination is one of the most effective measures against the epidemic. Given that uncertainties about coronavirus transmission will remain for a long time, all residents should get inoculated," said the proposal, according to the Beijing Youth Daily on Monday.
The proposal also elaborated on the quality of the vaccines, saying that China-produced vaccines are safer than those from other countries, and the technology for making vaccines in China is more mature.
It cited a recent experiment which indicated a 90 percent or higher success rate in generating antibodies 28 days after the whole course of vaccination is completed, which suggests a high efficacy in protecting against the virus.
Currently, the district's health commission is ramping up efforts to ensure the timely delivery of vaccines and safeguarding every process from vaccine purchase to registration.
All medical staff involved in the district-wide program, which includes 18 community health centers and three second-tier medical institutions, will receive professional training.
The district's public security departments will dispatch special teams to ensure the safe delivery of the vaccines to designated spots, where thorough disinfection and a closed-off environment will be prepared.
